About the Artist

As a classical portrait and seascape artist, I specialize in realistic oil portraits of families, children, and community leaders. I also paint dogs and other pets, as they, too, are beloved family members. I have a special love for the ocean, particularly subjects involving ships and boats. Stormy clouds and rough seas are exciting to capture. In addition, you will see paintings of far away places and scenic mountains, that are also lovely to create for my clients. 

Painting portraits in the classical, realistic style is my passion. I very much admire the works of the Old Masters and strive to emulate their beautiful methods, technique and style. Depending on the subject, I also like to move between minutely detailed classical work to more contemporary, impressionistic styles. The techniques can be seen in my portfolio of works, especially in the seascapes, marine paintings and an occasional landscape. 

I am a member of Oil Painters of America and The Portrait Society of America, where I served as Ambassador for Oregon. My awards include an International award, Best of Show, and multiple other awards including several People's Choice, which to me is the highest compliment. My paintings are in homes across the United States as well as internationally.

Having relocated to Wausau, Wisconsin, I find myself exploring a different land and waterscape. Capturing the rivers, lakes and cloud-filled skies of this beautiful region is inspiring, and will open up a new, exciting experience for me as an artist. I find myself in awe of the lush landscape of tree-covered hills as the sunset puts on a spectacular show.
